Gibson Girl Door Hanging by Gemma

Hi Everyone

I really like reusing my old, no longer loved stuff, at the moment its my old CDs. A while ago I put most of my music on my computer, and could not bring myself to throw the CDs away. slowly, very slowly I am painting them.

I prepared three CDs by covering them with gesso and punching holes in them so I could link them together once I had finished decorating them. Them I painted over the top with various shades of brown paint mostly from the paperartsy fresco finish line.

The background of the CDs was decorated using the Grid, Lace and a Calligraphy matt stamps and more paint.

Once that was completely dry I stamped out three of the Gibson Girl stamps with versa mark ink, one on each CD and then heat embossed the images using a detailed embossing powder. I also added bits of embossing in other areas.

I added a small amount of white paint to the girls to help highlight them from the background without covering all the paint and stamping underneath them.

I then stamped the small flower from Lesley's flowers, which I painted and then went over with a black paint pen. To finish I added words from a favourite song, linked them together using wire rings and added a couple of beads from my stash.

Hello Everyone,

Artistic stamper has beautiful Butterflies stamp sets, you can check them all here.

I've created journal page and used Butterflies set #2

here are step by step procedure:
  • Stamp text with artistic stamper background stamp and black archival ink onto the tissue paper.
  • Adhere that tissue to the page with gel medium.
  • Apply think coat of white gesso.
  • Apply acrylic colours of your choice, I used my fingers to spread the colour.
  • Use circle stencil and with baby wipe remove the color.
  • Stamp Chicken wire background stamp with black archival ink, randomly on the surface.
  • On another white card stock, stamp butterflies with Forget me not archival ink. Doodle on them with black pen, adhere them on page.
  • Add the sentiment and page is ready.

Photo Frame by Debs

Hi All

Debs here!  With something a little different for me.  I picked up a plain photo frame from The Artistic Stamper and decided to transform it! Let me know what you think I would love to hear your views on what you think.

Sorry the picture isn't great it was a bit wet outside today and the light inside wasn't great either!

Take one blank frame

Add some grunge paste through the swirls stencil

Get a Jamboree bag from The Artistic Stamper and adhere bits and pieces around the frame, the jamboree bags are full of hidden treasure

Using My Melt pot i mixed up some UTEE and poured it onto a heat proof craft mat and using a cog from the Tick Tock stamp set inked up with versa mark I stamped into the melted UTEE

then made a smaller one

I used the cooled down UTEE as a mild and using paper clay made some solid cogs

Trimmed down

I also cut out the middle of the large cog

Added the large cog over the top of the bits in the bottom left corner

Added the smaller one on top

I had also used another stamp in the UTEE which was Smile from the journaling words 4 which unfortunately you can't really see in this photo but its in the top right hand corner.  Once all the elements were stuck down i covered everything in black gesso.

Then I mixed some blue and green mica powders with gel medium and then covered the whole thing using the coloured gel medium as a paint!

Once that had dried I then got out some sliver gilding wax and just rubbed on the raised surfaces just to give it all a highlight

Here it is all complete and standing upright with its stand attached.  Now you can see the Smile.  Everything used in this project is available in the shop and online.

Do let me know what you think either on here or on the Facebook page.
Take Care Debs

Ohh!! I Do Love a Dragon fly By Dee

Hi Everyone I hope you are all well I have the beautiful Dragon fly
from the Butterflies #2 size A5 plate.
I started out with a cream tag that has some crackle paint on it in places.
Next I used the Calligraphic Mat 12
I swiped it through mat sealer and stamped onto the tag.
I then spritzed the distress paint with water then swiped the tag
through the paint. Knock back the area's that had the script stamp
stamped on it.
Next I took a square beer mat and cut the Tag up and assembled it to
fit.
Crackle paste was put round the edges of the mat then antiquing cream
in black and patina were applied once paste was dried.
Iridescent turquoise paint was.
For the dragon fly I used pewter embossing powder and ultra thick embossing
powder followed by silver.
I stamped the dragon fly twice into the hot embossing powder.
I cut it out and then trimmed the top one back.
I threaded the beads with wire to make the main body and the antennae.
The base was coloured with the alcohol ink.
A close up of the dragon fly

Well that's it for today I hope you all enjoyed my post
please feel free to let me know what you think.
Cheers Dee x

Bright Little card by Gemma

Hi Everyone

I hope now the festive season is over everyone is finding time to be crafty, I know this week is the first in ages that I have been able to get my toys out. Please join in this months challenge, which is anything goes, comment and follow. We really do appreciate it and enjoy looking at and reading them all.

I cut a piece of white card 16.5 x 12, and blended Mermaid lagoon, Abandoned Coral and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks over the top. I then place a chevron mask over the top and wiped away some of the ink with a wet wipe.

After flicking some extra drops of water over the ink I stamped over the top, using dots, chicken wire and calligraphy mat 4 background stamps. When I stamped I used the same colours of ink I blended onto the card and tried to keep the same colours in the same areas.

I then stamped out the main image, Lesleys's flowers using archival ink, which I coloured in with distress inks, and edged with Old Paper
.

I also stamped out and coloured a few of the smaller flower and the leaf that come on the same stamp set.

Once I had cut them all out, I attached them to the background that I had already glued to a card blank and wrapped some twine around. I also stamped out a sentiment and glued that in place.

Art Cards by Shilpa

Hello Everyone,
Hope you enjoyed Christmas Holidays, I had lovely time too with family.
Wish you all Happy and Creative year ahead.

So here I come with my first post of 2015.
I have created two Art Cards with Artistic stamper Home Sweet home stamp set.

cards sizes are 3.5" *4.5"

Here is the making procedure,

I started coloring a surface with magenta pink, white and beige acrylic colors. Everytime to make an art you don't need expensive products right. I've used good quality craft paints for this.
I used dots stamps from Mini background set with black archival ink for lovely texture.

For more layers I attached tissue paper, text paper and dry wall tape. Next I chose purple color.
and further I stamped text randomly.
I added bit of black and yellow color on surface as well.
And more texture with stencil and Prima modeling paste.

Cute lil' houses images are from Kat's Creations stamp set - Home sweet home.
I stamped houses on painted paper and cut them.

and when I adhered them all on created background..

here is close up look of second card,

Thank you so much for stopping by.

We have "Anything Goes" theme for this month's Challenge, hope you will join us
